whats up guys! i’ve been trying to learn more about the stock market and where to/what to invest in. I’m still trying to figure out where exactly I should be researching stocks and where to “find good ones” but i thought i’d jumó in here and ask y’all. I currently only have a small amount invested ; about 2k but. i really want to throw in another couple hundred/thousand witching the next month or so and i wanted to see what everyone would suggest doing with say 2k knowing what they know now.
for reference i have about 1/2 invested in index funds rn, 1/4 in reits, and 1/4 i. general stocks.
TIA and Happy new Year !

Skip individual stocks and stick to index funds. Having a REIT index fund can add diversification to your portfolio but it is best to have them in tax advantaged accounts. Invest as much as you can as soon as you can and don’t try to time the market.
Rather than chasing the next big thing, consider getting rich slow and invest in mutual funds.
