I am building a house with my fiancé. For what it’s worth-He makes significantly more money than I do, and we’re both on the loan. We just closed on a construction loan last week. I was working 2 part time jobs that both paid the same hourly rate. One of the jobs sucks so bad and the other job offered me full time hours. I was waiting until after closing to make the change and gave my notice at the shit job yesterday. My income will not change at all, and im still a W2 employee. My question is- will this change be an issue with a builder even though we already closed? I know I can ask them, I just wanted to put feelers out there until I can talk to them because now I have anxiety about it.
Going from part time to full time shouldn’t be an issue at all. Just make sure you stay at a full time job until your permanent financing is secured.
As long as you’re in the same industry and line of work and can provide paystubs you’re fine.
