Hi all – I currently have a 6 month student Amazon Prime membership and I usually just create a brand new Amazon account after the 6 months ends to get prime for free (we get tons of .edu accounts from school). I’m interested in using the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa since it has a generous $150 sign-up bonus. I can see that it shows there is no annual fee, but does this still hold true if I don’t have Prime anymore after 6 months? And if I end up closing my current account for a new email account after 6 months, how does that work with the card (can it be transferred)?
My amazon visa has no fee. Didnt get it with prime. So i assume yours would be like mine. You still get 1, 2, or 3% cash back.
I made a post on Prime benefits a year ago and got tons of great input. Long story short, I cut out Prime but kept my Amazon card. I still order stuff from Amazon, and when I do, the card is great to get the 3% rewards, but I don’t miss Prime at all. You don’t pay any fees, just get a lesser benefit (similar to the Target Redcard but that gives you 5%)
No sure but I know your 5% back goes to 3% without prime.
Yes, all that changes is the %back drops, and they mail a new card evetime you switch from prime to not prime version.
The sub isn’t designed to help you commit fraud. Just pay for your prime account instead of stealing it.
