I have a 401k with Vanguard that’s invested in target date 2045 fund.
I’m starting a new job that has 403b.
Should I keep the 401k and continue my auto-deposit of $50/week? It’s on auto pilot and I rarely check up on it.
I will take advantage of employer match on the 403b.
Should I combine them?
401k’s are sponsored by your employer. Are you saying you’ll have two jobs?
Are you keeping your old job too? If you aren’t then you can’t contribute to the 401k.
As for keeping the 401k open, it depends on the fees and your investment funds in the 401k. Most just roll it into an IRA to save on fees and have more investment options.
Roll the 401k into an IRA. You would not be able to continue contributing to a previous employer sponsored 401k.
It’s going to be finish of mine day, however before ending I am reading this wonderful piece of writing to
improve my experience.
